Your field of work
Foundry mechanics are involved in the production of castings of different sizes, materials and compositions,
Your tasks include the manufacture and preparation of molds and the production of castings using various molding and casting processes.
They operate and monitor mechanically, hydraulically or pneumatically controlled production plants and maintain them.
Your professional skills
- Identify and solve tasks on the basis of design drawings and the relevant technical documents
- plan the work sequence within the production process
- Assemble permanent molds for the production process
- Set up machines and plants, set the required operating values
- operate and monitor production plants in compliance with occupational safety regulations
- ensure the quality of castings by sampling and testing
- recognize faults in production plant and equipment, take measures to rectify them, maintain production equipment.
Your requirements
- Diligence (e.g. when producing casting moulds with high precision)
- Prudence (e.g. when working with hot molten metal)
- Observational accuracy and attentiveness (e.g. when monitoring automatic moulding machines)
- Manual dexterity (e.g. when finishing castings)
